The Skoda Yeti has been a runaway success for the Czech manufacturer, and in a bid to keep sales going strong, Skoda has decided to update their crossover model, as revealed by these spy pictures.

This test vehicle shows a heavily disguised Yeti, which will see the new Skoda design language applied across the range. The Yeti’s upright, quirky overall styling will remain, but it will be given sharper front and rear ends to keep it looking fresh compared to forthcoming new Skodas, including the Ford Focus-sized Rapid hatch, which is due next year, and a new Skoda Octavia also due in 2013.

The current range of petrol and diesel engines are expected to remain with few changes, but will benefit from efficiency improvements as Skoda’s parent company, Volkswagen Group, introduces upgrades across its brands. The Yeti will maintain the same interior dimensions and its highly praised off-road capability.

Skoda insists that there will be no changes to the Yeti line-up until late 2013, when the facelift is expected to go on sale.
